Meet Dave McTavish, Quality Assurance Manager at Central Mountain Air
“Being able to see the continual improvement that is a corner stone of quality assurance and safety management systems.”
HOW LONG HAVE YOU WORKED FOR CMA & WHAT DO YOU DO THERE?
I have been involved with the maintenance department for 7 years, first in the production office, and then moved into quality assurance 4 years ago. Quality assurance is about monitoring the maintenance activities to ensure all the standards are being met and to find ways to optimize them to ensure the utmost safety for our customers.
WHAT MAKES YOU MOST PASSIONATE ABOUT YOUR JOB?
Being involved with such a good team, and being able to see the continual improvement that is a corner stone of quality assurance and safety management systems.
WHERE DO YOU LIVE?
I live in Smithers BC, a great small town full of happy people surrounded by nature and never a traffic jam to be found.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO WHEN YOU ARE NOT AT WORK?
I volunteer and DJ with the local community radio and help organize music events such as the Midsummer Music Festival. I am lucky enough to play in a couple of bands with some very interesting people, and Smithers is a great place for mountain biking and snowboarding – both passions of mine.
WHAT GETS YOU UP IN THE MORNING?
Literally it’s the morning bird song. I hate to say it, but mornings aren’t my strong suit.
