Meet the Crew: Introducing Tristan, Katherine & Kevin

Learn more about the crew that helps you get to your destination. This post, we’re meeting three new team members and hearing about their experience working with Hawkair.

How long have you worked for Hawkair/CMA?

Tristan Cupit: 6 months. I was hired in the Fall of 2014, completed training in Nov., and have been fying full time ever since.

Katherine Bright: I’ve been part of the Hawkair Family since November 2012.

Kevin Green: I started working for Hawkair in June 2011.

What Do You Like About Your Job?

Tristan Cupit: I enjoy the constantly dynamic environment we ­y in. Even though we ­fly the same routes, no two ­ights are ever the same. The professionalism of the ­flight operations/dispatch department allows operations to ­ow smoothly and adapt as different things come up. Most of all, it’s a pleasure to be able to fl­y for the northern communities we serve. It’s a very gratifying feeling to connect families, friends and commerce in a very tangible and immediate way. You also can’t beat the view from 25,000′.

Katherine Bright: I’ve been part of the airline industry for 7 years and it has always been the people that I interact/work with that makes this job so exciting. I enjoy being a part of my passenger’s experience in-­flight and to provide Safety and Service. The unexpected recognition from a passenger after a long day is always rewarding.

Kevin Green: I love the view on the nice clear days and the challenge on the snowy, windy winter days.

What Do You Like About Hawkair/CMA?

Tristan Cupit: Hawkair serves communities in a very personal way. We strive to develop a more personal relationship with our travelling guests and that translates into a warm, welcoming environment to work in.

Katherine Bright: I am blessed to be a part of this wonderful company. Everybody is so down-to-earth! They make you feel at home right away. We all work as a team and want the best for our passengers and that means providing the best service they can get from the time they check in until they arrive to their destination. I enjoy the safety briefing we do every morning as it sets the tone for our whole day.

Kevin Green: I like the fact that Hawkair and CMA employ so many people in Northern BC and are always giving back to the communities they serve.

What Do You Like About Your Location?

Tristan Cupit: I am based in Terrace. I appreciate the amazing mountain scenery that you get to see throughout the year. Waking up at sunrise to the pink sky and a fine mist settled on the ground is really a sight to see. It is an outdoor enthusiasts paradise. Winter sees great skiing at Shames Mountain and a quick drive (or connecting fl­ight) to Hudson’s Bay in Smithers. I am also looking forward to hiking the various trails and mountains in the Spring and Summer.

Katherine Bright: Being able to travel with an awesome crew and to see a great view!

Kevin Green: I have been based in Terrace since I started with Hawkair and I really appreciate the proximity to nature. There is endless hiking, camping, fishing, hunting etc. all beginning 15 minutes from my doorstep with no lineups or traffic jams to get there.
