The Women in Leadership Executive Development Program supports the development of women aspiring to be in leadership roles or already in leadership roles within Hawkair. Today, we are profiling two of our team members who are taking part in the program.
Hawkair’s Safety Systems Manager
Taryn started working at Hawkair in 2004 as a Customer Service Agent at the YVR base. She instantly fell in love with the excitement and fast pace of the aviation industry and knew that this is where she belonged. Taryn is a driven person and likes to take every opportunity that she sees, even if it the thought of it intimidates her. Taryn has also had the role of a Base Lead Customer Service agent in YVR and 5 years ago was promoted to the Safety Systems Manager. Besides her sheer love for aviation, her other motivator for success is her two beautiful daughters. Taryn wants to be a positive role model by showing them that woman can be successful and have great careers. Her children are what get her up in the morning and they are what she loves to come home to.
Taryn has recently been accepted into Hawkair’s Women in Leadership Development Program.
“I am extremely excited to be accepted into the program and looking forward to gaining knowledge within other areas, increasing my confidence by finding my leadership voice and the journey of personal growth.”
Said Taryn Acheson Safety Systems Manager “My goal is to apply my increased skillset to other business units and be a high performing leader within the company.”
Taryn’s program roadmap over the next 24 months includes earning her CRSP designation, education within Leadership and Management, roles within Strategy, Finance, Human Resources, and Operations and representing the company at safety and regulatory related conferences.
